Annachatra scheme

Sumati Balwan is a small Orphanage situated on the outskirts of Pune city, near Katraj, started in 2001 with three children brought in by social workers.
At present we have 21 children in residence and we also look after their schooling.

We depend on funds given by charitable donors.

We therefore, have a scheme of 'Annachhatra' under which we invite our Donors to sponsor a
day's meals in the Orphanage. This could also be done in the memory of a departed ancestor, if so desired.

Under this scheme, we request a Donor to keep, in their own name, a Fixed Deposit amount of Rs. 25,000, in a Bank of their choice, in Pune city and advise the bank to transfer the annual interest on this amount, to the Sumati Balwan Annachatra Scheme run by the Radhabai Hardikar Pranijat Mangal Sanstha, which is our Registered Trust, duly registered under the Bombay Public Trust Act, bearing no. Maharashtra / 846 / 2001

The interest amount of around Rs 2500, would be sufficient for one day's meals. We will display on our Notice Board, the name and other information requested by the Donor, on that particular day.

If so requested, we will also arrange for a small thanksgiving prayer.

We provide only vegetarian food cooked on premises of the Orphanage itself, by a cook appointed for the purpose.
Fresh food is cooked for every meal, including breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Since the President of our Trust, Dr. Sharayu Ghole, is a Gynaecologist by profession, she ensures that all the children receive a healthy and balanced diet, along with excellent medical care!
